I’m Sander van Eck — a 27-year-old outdoor addict, born in the Netherlands and now based in Northern Ireland. If the weather allows it, I’m outside. And honestly, sometimes even when it doesn’t.
Over the years, I’ve chased big waves along the Irish coastline, camped in sideways rain, and hiked when the trail was more puddle than path — and my feet paid the price every single time. Cold. Wet. Miserable.
I’d pack all the right gear… but had no idea waterproof socks were even a thing.
I’m an industrial designer by trade, which means I think a lot about how products actually solve real problems. So when I finally got my hands on a pair of waterproof socks — I was pumped… until I wore them. They were uncomfortable, bulky, and just plain boring. That didn’t sit right with me.
So I set out to make something BETTER.
That’s where NOORD was born — out of a stubborn belief that waterproof socks should be comfortable, breathable, stretchy, durable — and look damn good while doing it.
